Our Metro Detroit data center is strategically located to support Metro Detroit, Southeast Michigan, and the greater Midwest. As one of three OTAVA-managed data centers in Michigan, the Metro Detroit data center delivers secure, compliant, enterprise-class cloud hosting, colocation, offsite backup, and recovery services.

The 34,500 square-foot standalone data center includes a total of 18,000 square feet of 24-inch raised floor, deployed over three phases and a total building load capacity of 1.2 MW. The carrier-neutral facility has two physically separate and diverse fiber points of entry and features fiber connectivity from eight different telecommunications providers.

The Metro Detroit data center is geographically separated from our other locations to provide ideal production, data protection, and disaster recovery solutions.

Our Metro Detroit data center provides secure, enterprise-class cloud computing and disaster recovery solutions.

Power

  • Three Cummins 500 kW diesel generators.
  • Three 2,000-gallon Convault diesel storage tanks.
  • 2,500 kVA transformer utility feed
  • UPS battery backup systems provide clean and conditioned power in a N+1 configuration.
  • Multiple PDUs to support HA power to the rack.
  • High-availability power runs diverse power paths to each server.
  • All generators are tested and maintained on a regular weekly and monthly schedule.

Network Infrastructure

  • Multiple Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with physically diverse fibers feed into data center.
  • Redundant Gigabit network provides 10GB capacity on demand.
  • High-availability dual Cisco-powered network provides redundant network connections to the server.
  • VLAN configuration isolates each client from all other clients’ equipment.

Building Safety and Security

  • FM 200 and dual stage dry pipe sprinkler system with double interlock pre-action zoned valve control.
  • Multiple levels of physical security with two-factor authentication to gain floor access.
  • 24/7 controlled access to the colocation space.
  • Power equipment, network infrastructure, and network operations equipment are segregated in physically separate secured rooms with no customer access.
  • Complete perimeter and interior digital video surveillance with 24/7 recording and archiving.
