‘Loaded up’ Indianapolis cloud can eliminate capital outlay, extend IT team expertise and help meet compliance demands

When Online Tech opened its Indiana Data Center earlier this year, co-CEO Mike Klein said the company “saw a gap in secure cloud and data center infrastructure serving Indiana.”

That gap continued to be filled when Online Tech launched its new and improved cloud infrastructure in mid-December, creating the only truly PCI, HIPAA and SOX-compliant cloud in Indianapolis.

The enterprise-level cloud is built on EMC XtremIO all-flash array technology that offers clients faster application response times while increasing reliability and availability.

“We went into that cloud and loaded it up,” Klein said. “These flash array drives really rocket performance … it’s perfect for companies looking to do healthcare or financial data analytics. It can address range of applications.”

The Indianapolis-based cloud is also combined with the company’s Michigan-based cloud to create a multi-cloud strategy separated by 300 miles to further minimize the risk of data loss or application downtime.

By offering the secure and compliant new cloud product – and its full suite of security technology – Klein said Online Tech allows compliance-focused clients the opportunity to eliminate the capital outlay necessary to create a similar architecture of its own and create a much more predictable IT budget.

It also allows companies to essentially extend their own IT team’s expertise by gaining Online Tech’s set of certified, well-trained staff. Klein calls it the “high-touch, white glove experience.”

“You get just in time expertise, as you need it, without hiring or having to look for it,” Klein said. “That lets a company’s IT team focus on core business. Instead of having an IT guy taking calls at 3 a.m., we take care of all the greasy stuff. They manage the customer experience and strategic points of applications rather than the nitty gritty.”

Like all Online Tech products across its five Midwest data centers, the new Indianapolis cloud also meets the strictest standards of security and compliance. All data centers undergo independent third-party audits that clients can provide to their own auditors.

Best of all for Indianapolis-area clients, says Klein, is that the infrastructure is located right downtown. Pay us a visit, check out the hardware and talk to the engineers running it.
