Online Tech has been nominated for MLive Media Group’s 2013 Deals of the Year award in the Technology category, next to other nominees, Toyota Technical Center and the University of Michigan Mobility Transformation Center. Other companies spanning diverse categories, including Construction and Development, Health, Nonprofit and more, include Zingerman’s Deli expansion, the Ann Arbor Skatepark, the Ark and many more.
According to MLive, the Ann Arbor Deals of the Year is Washtenaw County’s premier black-tie awards ceremony hosted by MLive Media Group and the Ann Arbor News. Here’s some background info on the awards:
Last year’s November 2, 2012 Deals of the Year event highlighted business decisions that have had the most impact in the region over the previous year. In addition, Ann Arbor SPARK recognized the recipients of the Fast Track Awards. New in 2012, we welcomed the A2Y Regional Chamber and their recognition of the “Distinguished Service” and “Small Business of the Year” awards during the Deals of the Year cocktail reception.
Deals of the Year winners were kept secret until they were unveiled at the November 2, 2012 event. The event was started in 2005 by the Ann Arbor Business Review. The event continues under the auspices of the MLive Media Group and The Ann Arbor News.
Why was Online Tech nominated this year? According to MLive.com:
After attracting a $20 million investment in 2012, the data center company doubled in size to 50 employees. Online Tech also consolidated its headquarters into a 10,000-square-foot space in Ann Arbor as it continues to expand operations at its centers in Pittsfield Township. The company moved to a co-CEO structure and Yan Ness, one of the CEOs, was named a finalist in the Ernst and Young regional Entrepreneur of the Year.
