Online Tech recently won our fifth FastTrack Award since 2006 – sponsored by Ann Arbor SPARK, a local economic development agency, the award recognizes outstanding local business success in Washtenaw County.
In order to be eligible, companies must sustain a 20 percent revenue growth rate for at least three consecutive years. Online Tech has averaged more than 30 percent growth since 2003, when the company transitioned from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to a managed data center operator with three Michigan data centers (read about our company history and awards).
Last Friday, Online Tech was recognized at the 8th Annual AnnArbor.com Deals of the Year awards held at the Eastern Michigan Ballroom. Featuring a keynote speech by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, nearly 450 people were in attendance representing Washtenaw County’s finest businesses, according to AnnArbor.com.
Online Tech’s growth is fueled by a growing managed data center market. In August 2012, Gartner reported worldwide spending for IT outsourcing services will predictably reach $251 billion in 2012, with the fastest growing market segment as cloud computing services (anticipated to grow 48.7 percent in 2012 to $5 billion; an increase from $3.4 billion in 2011).
Acknowledging this market growth trend, Online Tech received an investment from the Missouri-based News-Press & Gazette Company, a family-owned, traditional media company with roots in the newspaper and broadcast operations business. The $20 million investment has set in place plans to add four new data centers over the next 24 months, expanding into the Midwest markets. To support this growth, internal promotions and management team additions are continuing to rise (read Online Tech Announces Additions to Its Management Team).
