Mike Klein, Online Tech
Klein is President and COO of Online Tech, a national leader in cloud computing that addresses the regulatory requirements of the financial, healthcare, and retail sectors. The company operates three Michigan data centers, two of which are in Ann Arbor. Prior to joining Online Tech, Mike was CEO of Interlink Networks, Managing Partner of Company Crafters, and CEO/Founder of Steeplechase Software, which started from a business plan written while in the Ross Business School MBA program.
Dwight Carlson, Coherix
Carlson is a serial entrepreneur and founder of three companies: Xycom (1968-1981. the first microcomputer used for self-service gas pump dispensing); Perceptron (1981-1996, laser-based metrology for reduction of variation in auto manufacturing); and Coherix (2004-present, use of digital holograms in automotive, semiconductor, and electronics manufacturing). Carlson also presently serves as Chairman of the Powertrain Engineering and Manufacturing Alliance (PEMAlliance).
Ian Charles, Boleyn
Charles is president of the Boleyn Advisory Group Inc., a corporate strategy services firm which he founded in 2004. He previously founded an engineering consulting firm specializing in fatigue and structural integrity studies, and served in senior management positions at Ford Motor Company, MSX International, and Wagon plc. His 20-plus years’ experience in the US and Europe includes automotive, manufacturing, business and technical services, and public sector power generation.
Moderator: George Levy, Entrepreneur, Investor (Ret.)
Levy earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from UCLA in 1968 and joined the General Electric R&D Center. After five years and publication of his first book, he moved to academia where he was a Professor for 21 years and published nine books and more than 150 scientific papers. George and his wife Linda then started a software company, a process that enhanced his interest in entrepreneurship and the development of technological businesses. Since moving to Michigan in 1994, George has been instrumental in the development and success of numerous high tech startups and also served as President of NEF.
