Online Tech’s Director of Operations Jason Yaeger will participate on a panel of compliant data center experts in Los Angeles, Calif. at the 7×24 Exchange Southern California Chapter meeting on April 23. The meeting will showcase auditing and compliance in the data center. Jason is also Online Tech’s Risk Management and Security Officer, with extensive experience in data center audits, as he has guided the company through the successful completion of SAS 70 Type I, SAS 70 Type II, SSAE 16, HIPAA and PCI.
Held at T5’s new data center in El Segundo, the meeting will feature Online Tech’s expertise in bringing their data centers and services into compliance with HIPAA and PCI DSS to serve the healthcare and e-commerce organizations, including software as a service (SaaS). HIPAA hosting and PCI hosting come with their own set of specific requirements for achieving administrative, physical and technical security to protect sensitive data housed in HIPAA compliant data centers and PCI compliant data centers.
Jason is currently a member of the Michigan 7×24 Exchange Southeast Michigan Chapter, a group dedicated to Michigan data center and Michigan colocation professionals. Most recently, Online Tech’s co-CEO Mike Klein presented on their Michigan disaster recovery panel discussion, Are You Prepared for a Disaster Like “Sandy”? The discussion covered the differences between disaster planning and disaster recovery as well as how cloud computing has affected disaster recovery planning or responses.

More About Jason Yaeger
Jason led the investment in energy efficient improvements last year on Online Tech’s Mid-Michigan data center facility, formerly the EDS disaster recovery site for General Motors, Co. As a result, Online Tech became the first Michigan data center operator to earn the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR certification, placing Online Tech in the top 25 percent of facilities in the nation regarding energy performance. Jason also led the successful UPS infrastructure upgrade in 2011. In addition to overseeing operations across all of Online Tech’s data centers, Jason is also the Vice President of the Southeast Michigan Chapter of 7×24 Exchange. Prior to Online Tech, Jason was Director of Internet Operations at 20/20 Communications where he spent 8 years developing the company’s wireless and internet initiatives.
